Flights To Uganda
The main Ugandan international airport and regional transport hub is Entebbe International Airport situated on the shores of Lake Victoria some 20 miles from the capital Kampala. The site was made famous by an epic commando raid launched by the Israeli Defence Force to rescue Israeli hostages held with the compliance of Idi Amin by Palestinian terrorist. The old airport building has since been demolished.
The main international connections to Uganda are provided by British Airways from London/Heathrow every other day. Both KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Kenya Airways operates a connection from Amsterdam, the latter via Nairobi. Brussels Airlines flies direct from Entebbe to Brussels from where it is then possible to meet connecting flights to India, China and the United States.
Several regional carriers operate a comprehensive service between Entebbe and most of the main regional and pan-African capitals, including South African Airways direct to Johannesburg.
There is also a limited domestic scheduled flight network includes the oddly named local carrier Royal Daisy Airlines, and Eagle Air.
