Hotels In Mauritania

The capital Nouakchott and the second city of Atar both have a good selection of world class hotels. Nouakchott has several in the US$100 or more range, with the local Novotel charging prices upwards of US$250 a night. There are also many guesthouses, small hotels Auberges that are not necessarily listed, but offer a fairly comfortable range of services.

Outside the capital standards and availability are patchy, but again local guesthouses and auberges proliferate, with also many local campsites available with basic but very reasonably priced facilities.

Local advice will often direct you to private homes and compounds in outlying areas where fro a small consideration you can request and invitation to be a guest where you might enjoy basic but safe and friendly conditions.
