Passports & Visas: All visitors require a passport that has at least a six month validity from the day of departure. A provable means of departure is also required i.e. an air ticket or vehicle. Visas are required for nationals from all countries except Australia, New Zealand, France, German, UK, Ireland, Canada and USA. 90 day permits are usually obtainable at a port of entry.
Credit Cards & ATMs: Both are widely used and widely accepted
Change money at the bank. There is no black market for currency in Namibia
Religion: Christianity dominates with a strong underlay of variations on local animist beliefs. German Lutheranism is the main denomination. Roman Catholicism is a large secondary denomination.
Politics: Namibia is a presidential, representative democratic republic. The president serves a five year term and is both head of government and head of state. Legislative power is vested in both the government and an upper and lower house. Executive power is exercised by government. The judiciary is independent of both.

Sport: Soccer dominates the national sports scene with minority interest in rugby and cricket
Demographics: Namibia is second only to Mongolia as having the lowest global population density. Over half the population are of Ovambo ethnicity. Smaller groups are the related Hereo and Himba. Other smaller groups include the Bushman and Nama groups and Europeans made up of English, German, Portuguese and French origin.
